The ROSAHL dehumidifier works by…

ROSAHL is a new dehumidifier that utilises a special porous membrane to electrolytically decompose and remove moisture from the air using a low voltage, low power electrical supply.

When electricity is applied to the membrane it attracts water vapour from inside the cabinet which is then drawn into the membrane.  Through a process called electrolysis, the membrane separates the water into hydrogen ions and oxygen, which then migrate through the membrane.  On reaching other side of the membrane the hydrogen ion reacts with oxygen in the air resulting in release of water vapour into the atmosphere.

In certain applications, the Rosahl membrane can also be reversed to perform the role of humidification.
