Low energy dehumidifier
Mitsubishi Electric group company Ryosai Technica has developed a low energy maintenance free dehumidifier for cabinets up to 8m³ or 280 cu ft.
The ROSAHL panel dehumidifier utilises porous electrodes on each side of a hydrogen-ion conductive electrolyte film for transferring moisture from the anode to the cathode and dehumidifying the enclosure. In terms of energy consumption, it uses approximately 2% of a heater system and 20% a Peltier system: for example the ROSAHL is capable of dehumidifying 2m3 (70cu ft) of a control panel at 5W, whereas the heating and Peltier systems require 250W and 50W respectively.
ROSAHL has the added advantage of no moving parts and reacts only with moisture there is no noise or vibration and it requires no drainage. In addition to preventing unsafe conditions (corrosion etc.) and extending the service life of the control panel and its components, the utilisation of ROSAHL dehumidifiers reduces the energy consumption and negative environmental impact of the unit.
By preventing moisture in storage areas ROSAHL can also be used in a wide variety of applications including CCTV cameras, foodstuff and pharmaceutical storage, museum exhibits, gun cabinets and similar.
